Investigation: January 16, 2010

The home is a one-story, 3 bedroom house.  Husband, wife, three kids (all under 10 years of age), two dogs and two cats live there.

The primary experiences in the home have been:

• sightings of shadow figures near the back sliding glass door
• smoke alarms goes off "for no reason" accompanied by the smell of cooking
• their young children see an apparition they refer to as "Grandma"
• emotional and physical sensations of being "drained"
• TV remote control flew off the couch once, witnessed by at least one of the adults at the time
• one child says they see ghosts in their room at night, that hide come daylight
• son was found crouching in the kitchen corner screaming, as if scared by something

The adults say they have never discussed "ghosts" in front of the kids, so they don't believe the kids have picked the idea up from their conversations.

So, easily a place worthy of investigation, with the hope of bringing the family some understanding and comfort.

Below are some samples of the evidence gathered from the investigation conducted that evening.

Video Analysis:
While recording the activity in the living room during an EVP session, a camcorder aimed at an EMF meter and various objects placed in the middle of the floor, recorded the EMF meter falling over.  We can't say this was "paranormal" in nature, since it only falls over.  However, the interesting thing is we had drawn attention to the objects and asked for the "spirit" to knock over any of the objects.

The meter had been placed in a standing position for some time prior to the event, and investigators had even walked past it several times prior.  We are at a loss to explain this event.  Here's video sections which show this event:

These video clips are presented here with the concurrence of the homeowner, who was present at the time and shown in the videos.

EVPs:
These are clips from unfiltered, unaltered audio files and slight filtered copies used to clarify what is being said.  However the filtered/altered files are not considered "evidence" in themselves, they are for analysis only, and presented here for that purpose.  EVPs tend to be rather soft voices and oddly modulated, so it helps to use good quality headphones, a higher volume and play the file several times.
