Conclusion Based On
Findings: Haunted
| |
Pardee Home Museum, Oakland, CA
Investigation:
December 17, 2011
|
| |
 |
| |
Chuck, a member of California Paranormal Research,
participated in an investigation of the Pardee Home Museum
in Oakland, California, on December 17, 2011. The event was
a small private gathering to perform a more traditional paranormal
investigation of this location. Two prior
investigations have been held as fund raisers to help keep
the location in operation.
The home was the family residence for Enoch Pardee
and two subsequent generations of the Pardee Family.
From the museum's web site: "Enoch Pardee came to
California from the Midwest during the Gold Rush to make his
fortune. He succeeded well enough to become a respected eye
doctor, and in 1868-69 built the house that is now the
Pardee Home Museum. Enoch also pursued a vigorous public
career in the 1870's and 1880's, serving as mayor of
Oakland, state assemblyman, and state senator. His son,
George C. Pardee, followed closely in his father's
footsteps, also becoming an eye doctor and mayor of Oakland,
and was elected Governor of California in 1902."
It's a very interesting house, with a
long history and filled with collections of objects from
around the world. The home has been left in
virtually the same condition it was in when the last of the
Pardee family members, Helen, died in 1981, shortly after
the death of her sister, Madeline, in 1980.
To learn more about the Pardee Home Museum
and it long history,
go to their web site:
http://www.pardeehome.org/
This time the team consisted of only five
individuals, Chuck being one of the five. They had
open access to both the upstairs portion of the Carriage
House as well as the entire main house.

During the time they were in Madeline's Bedroom, one of the
investigators,
Karen, experienced having the back of her jacket tugged,
shortly after
which Chuck felt something lightly tap him on the back
several times. All of this occurring in the very same
room Chuck had the back of his T-shirt tugged on a prior
occasion.

Below are the resulting EVPs we obtained that evening.
EVPs:
These are clips
from unfiltered, unaltered audio files and slight filtered/trimmed copies used to
clarify what is being said. However the filtered/altered files are not
considered "evidence" in themselves, they are for analysis only, and presented
here for that purpose. EVPs tend to be rather soft voices and oddly
modulated, so it helps to use good quality headphones, a
higher volume and play the file
several times.
